Movie Trailer Roundup - Ben Affleck Is Robbing Drug Lords Now
I mean, this looks awesome. Plus it’s a Netflix joint so it’s basically free. Staring is Ben Affleck (Justice League), Oscar Isaac (Star Wars), Charlie Hunnam (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword), Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones), and Garrett Hedlund (Troy). That’s a stacked cast for director J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year).
2. Godzilla: King of the Monsters
This title still sucks shit, but I am still super excited for it. The cast is unreal and includes Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Vera Farmiga (The Departed), Bradley Whitford (Get Out), Sally Hawkins (The Shape Of Water), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Ken Watanabe (Inception), and Zhang Ziyi (Memoirs of a Geisha). I’d usually never list a cast that long, but it is a stacked group of actors and actresses. It’s directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus, Trick r’ Treat) and co-written by Zach Shields (Krampus), and Max Borenstein (Godzilla, Kong: Skull Island).
3. Brightburn
This is a movie trailer that came out, so here it is in the blog. It stars Elizabeth Banks (The 40 Year Old Virgin) and is directed by David Yarovesky (The Hive).
4. An Acceptable Loss
I like political thrillers, and am also a fan of the recent Jamie Lee Curtis comeback. This Joe Chappelle (Chicago Fire) movie stars her and Tika Sumpter (Ride Along).
5. Bird Box (Trailer #2)
Still not entirely sure what’s going on based off this trailer, but it does have my attention. Sandra Bullock (The Blind Side) stars alongside Sarah Paulson (Ocean’s 8), John Malkovich (Mile 22), BD Wong (My dreams), Lil Rel Howery (Uncle Drew), Trevante Rhodes(Moonlight) and Machine Gun Kelly (The guy who got punched in the chest 55 times). Susanne Bier (In a Better World) is directing off a Eric Heisserer (Arrival) adapted script.
6. The Mustang
Prison movies are usually hit or miss for me, but I like director Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre as an actress, for what that’s worth. It stars Matthias Schoenaerts (The Danish Girl), Connie Britton (American Ultra) and Jason Mitchell (Mudbound).
7. Downton Abbey
I don’t know anything about this show other than people who sound smart always talk about how they watch it. Same with ‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’. Is it good? Tweet me if you think it’s worth starting.
